ISLAMABAD: The federal government raised objections to the Audio Leaks Commission bench in the Supreme Court and requested to constitute a new bench.
According to Express News, the federal government objected to the bench consisting of Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, and Justice Muneeb Akhtar. The government filed a cross plea in the petition case against the Audio Leak Commission.
The petition states that Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, and Justice Muneeb Akhtar should not hear the case of five audio leaks, one audio before the inquiry commission is related to the Chief Justice’s pleasure and the court decisions and the Judges’ Code of Conduct.
Accordingly, the judge cannot hear the case of his relative. It has been stated in the petition that in the past, Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry recused himself from the bench in the Arsalan Iftikhar case on objection, similarly, other audio leaks are also related to Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar, so a new bench for hearing. should be formed.

ایکسپریس نیوز کے مطابق وفاقی حکومت نے چیف جسٹس عمر عطا بندیال، جسٹس اعجاز الااحسن، جسٹس منیب اختر پر مشتمل بنچ پر اعتراض عائد کردیا۔ حکومت نے متفرق درخواست آڈیو لیک کمیشن کے خلاف درخواستوں کے مقدمہ میں جمع کرائی۔
درخواست میں کہا گیا ہے کہ چیف جسٹس عمر عطا بندیال، جسٹس اعجاز الاحسن اور جسٹس منیب اختر پانچ آڈیو لیک کا مقدمہ نہ سنیں، انکوائری کمیشن کے سامنے ایک آڈیو چیف جسٹس کی خوش دامن سے متعلقہ ہے اور عدالتی فیصلوں اور ججز کوڈ آف کنڈکٹ کے مطابق جج اپنے رشتے دار کا مقدمہ نہیں سن سکتا۔
درخواست میں کہا گیا ہے کہ ماضی میں ارسلان افتخار کیس میں چیف جسٹس افتخار چوہدری نے اعتراض پر خود کو بینچ سے الگ کر لیا تھا اسی طرح دیگر آڈیو لیکس جسٹس اعجاز الاحسن اور جسٹس منیب اختر سے بھی متعلقہ ہیں اس لیے سماعت کے لیے نیا بنچ تشکیل دیا جائے۔
