Vivo will launch its first-ever foldable phone at a special launch event on April 11th. The smartphone will then be officially launched in China. A snapshot of the marketing standee for offline retail has been released prior to the official launch. This confirms the entire specs sheet.

Vivo X Fold Specifications

The display of Vivo X Fold’s 8″ Samsung AMOLED E5 internal folding display is confirmed. It has a 2K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate that can be adjusted using the LTPO 3.0 technology. It also features a 6.53″ Full HD + display at the rear with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It also features 3D dual-screen fingerprint scanners.

The X Fold also beat 19 Display Mate A+ records. TUV Rheinland certified the hinge to work for 300,000 folds/unfolds. This is a world first.

Under the hood, X Fold contains the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and LPDDR5 memory. It boots Android 12.

The leaked poster claims that the device will have a 4,600mAh dual-cell battery. It supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless flash charging. There is also a wide-area superconducting insensitive thermal system for heat dissipation.

The phone has a quad-camera unit, which can be used for photography. It is covered with Zeiss branding, and T* coating, and has a rear panel that houses the camera. The 50MP Samsung G5 primary lens includes OIS. It is supported by a 48MP ultrawide lens, a 12MP portrait lens, as well as a 5MP 60x OIS periscope. Wi-Fi 6 (and NFC) are two additional connectivity options.

According to what we know so far, the smartphone debuts in China first. It is not yet known if it will be made available on the international market.
