Smartphone Manufacturing Plant for Xiaomi Handsets In Pakistan

Select Technologies, a fully-owned subsidiary of Air link Communication Limited, has announced the launch of its factory for manufacturing smartphones to produce Xiaomi smartphones in Pakistan.
The event was held on March 4th at Quaid-e- Azam Industrial Estate, Kot Lakhpat. Airlink group is among the most prominent producers, retailers, and distributors for smartphones and has almost all the major international brands in the market as partners.

The company is estimated to hold. 20% of market share in distribution, and is poised to improve its standing by launching Xiaomi phones.
Commenting on the new partnership, Muzzaffar Hayat Piracha, Director of Select Technologies, said, “Our collaboration with Xiaomi is a wonderful development not just for the company but for Pakistan. Xiaomi is a world-class technology giant and market leader in the field of innovative technology that isn’t restricted just to mobile phones.”
“This project will open many possibilities as the manufacturing of smartphones is the first step toward an even bigger goal. My mission is to put Pakistan on the world’s technological map by ensuring top-quality services and products for every Pakistan region. We are not just localizing manufacturing, but this will in turn boost exports of Pakistan and assist us in playing our part in reducing import cost,” he added.
