This is an EASY 4-ingredient Homemade Chocolate Frosty Recipe that’s perfect for a super hot summer day. Nostalgia from when I was little, this version is homemade with real chocolate, cream, and vanilla for a healthier twist. These Frosties are ice-cold and creamy as the Wendy’s originals but with the added bonus of genuine ingredients. Believe it or not, this Frosty is ridiculously good-my brothers all agree! It is, therefore, loved by every child, and adults equally; it is truly delectable and has the feature of being creamy and sweet. The point here is no one should not like this delicious chocolate dessert.
As mentioned before, I was not a massive fast food lover when I was younger. I would sneak in a few bites as a little child then picked it off pretty quick and left alone from it.
I was kind of an oddball; I loved munching on carrots with ranch and would eat my broccoli. Actually, I do have a weakness for a good DQ Blizzard and, on occasion, a Wendy’s Frosty. There was something to be said about those Frosties-they were special because, when we were all hungry for something sweet, my mom’s homemade desserts usually took priority over a Blizzard, if we were that lucky. We didn’t go to Wendy’s much-again, fast food wasn’t part of our diet, but every now and then, we’d treat ourselves to a Frosty.
Easy Chocolate Frosty Recipe:
This is a super simple ice cream recipe with only three ingredients. I got it from my brother-in-law who makes tons of ice cream for the family. This is probably his favorite ice cream, both by kids and adults. It’s a copycat recipe for Wendy’s Chocolate Frosty and is light on chocolate flavor. Still, if you freeze it overnight, it becomes solid and scoopable with a different texture, but it is still as tasty as fresh churned.
3 Ingredients
You will need only three ingredients for this ice cream: chocolate milk, sweetened condensed milk, and a frozen whipped topping such as Cool Whip. Simply whisk the three ingredients together until well mixed. It is perfectly fine if the whipped topping doesn’t dissolve completely, as you can see in the photo below.
Chocolate Milk: I didn’t have chocolate milk; so I just added chocolate syrup to the milk that I had. This recipe can be done with dairy milk or almond milk.
Whipped Topping: I like making sure that I use the version that’s extra creamy to give the recipe that light and creamy texture that makes this different from a milkshake.
Sweetened Condensed Milk: In this, the sweetened condensed milk gives the frosty its rich sweetness and unique texture.
How To Make a Chocolate Frosty ?
Ice Cream Maker Method: Fill mixture into your ice cream maker, being sure not to exceed capacity (this batch had to go in two as my ice cream maker is rather smaller). Once put through the ice cream maker as intended, within 20-30 minutes your frosty will be at its best.
No Ice Cream Maker: Don’t have an ice cream maker? Don’t worry! Pour your frosty mix into a Tupperware and freeze for two hours, stirring every 30 minutes to ensure you end up with a smooth consistency.
Tips for Making
- Variations: You can make a strawberry milk version of this by replacing the chocolate milk with strawberry milk. For a peppermint version, you can add 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract to the mix.
- Try to include some miniature chocolate chips.
- To make a frosty boozy, simply add a shot of Kahlua right into your frosty and stir it up just before serving.
- Serve with cherries or other toppings if you like!

1.What ingredients are used to make a Chocolate Frosty?
A Chocolate Frosty consists of chocolate milk, or just regular milk with chocolate syrup, and sweetened condensed milk along with a type of frozen whipped topping known as Cool Whip.
2.Can I make a Chocolate Frosty if I don’t have an ice cream maker?
Absolutely you can and it’ll be just as creamy if done right in a Tupperware or something the same stuff. Freeze the mixture two hours stir every 30 minutes.
If making with an ice cream maker, pour mixture into ice cream maker and churn at ice cream setting for 20 to 30 minutes until Frosty has reached the desired consistency.

To make a healthy version, use low-fat or non-dairy milk, light whipped topping, and decrease the amount of sweetened condensed milk or provide with a sugar-free version instead.
