- STEP 1In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil over medium heat. Add the bell peppers and onions, sprinkling with a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring often until the vegetables are caramelized, about 12 to 15 minutes. Remove the peppers and onions onto a plate and set aside.
