Cooking Time for Steak
The time it takes to cook the steak depends on whether you want your steak to be rare, medium or well-done as well as the size of the steak. Steps to Cook Your Steak
- Prepare Ingredients: Gather all necessary ingredients.

- Season Steaks: Just before cooking, season the steaks with salt and pepper.
- Heat Pan: Add oil to a cast-iron pan and heat it over medium-high heat until the oil shimmers.
- Sear Steaks: Place the steaks in the hot pan and sear one side for 3 to 4 minutes. Flip and sear the other side for another 3 to 4 minutes.
- Check Temperature: Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature. Depending on the steak’s thickness and your preferred level of doneness, the steaks might be cooked to your liking.
